John 7

Read the chapter here.

A couple very quick thoughts:

Jesus gets sneaky, traveling to the Feast in secret.  Makes me wonder why.

Also, we run into our friend from chapter 3, Nicodemus.  Looks like he's getting a little bolder, beginning to speak up on behalf of Jesus, at least a little bit.  What do you think about that?  What might that mean in to us 2000 years later?

What verse or passage will you memorize from this chapter?

  1. I think that the traveling to the feast in secret is because of why He said in scripture, it wasn't His time yet. There are things about what Jesus does that don't make sense to us in our human minds. I think Nicodemus got 'bold' because he was justified in asking the question, making sure everything was fair. It was still safe for him to say that. My opinion is that he should have said more if he was going to stand up for Jesus.

I like verse 31 because the people still believe in Jesus as the Messiah, they are asking if anyone could do as many signs as Jesus is right now. I like that because they have the proof in front of them and they grab hold of it and don't let others sway their opinion of who they know Jesus to be.
