Lord Jesus, I am afflicted. Most of my affliction is self-inflicted, I know that, and yet it's an affliction nonetheless. Do not leave me to rot in my selfishness. Do not hand me over to those who would carve me up. Do not abandon me to the enemy. Help me draw near to you, that you might draw near to me. Connect me, the branch, to you, the vine. I need you.
