Proverbs 27

v. 19 As water reflects the face, so one's life reflects the heart.

Lord Jesus, my life reflects my heart.  My life is not perfect, it's not even close.  My heart is ugly.  Cleanse me, make me new.  Help me recapture the joy of being yours.  I am capable, I am competent. I am rarely joyful.  Fill my heart with your joy, and let my joy flow over to others.  Amen.

Proverbs 26

v. 14 As a door turns on its hinges, so a sluggard turns on his bed.

Father, let me be a man who faithfully obeys, who avoids laziness and does the things you want me to do.  I can be lazy.  I don't want to be, I want to get things done to build your Kingdom and bring you glory.  I love you and need you Jesus.  Come Holy Spirit.  Amen.

Proverbs 25

v. 19 Like a broken tooth or a lame foot is reliance on the unfaithful in a time of trouble.

Father, let me be a reliable friend to those in need.  Thank you for the many reliable people you have blessed my life with.  You are the ultimate reliable God and Father.  I love you.  I need you.  Let me never give up pursuing and desiring you, Lord my God.  Amen.

Proverbs 24

v. 16 for though the righteous fall seven times, they rise again, but the wicked stumble when calamity strikes.

Jesus, I fall.  I fall far too often.  But falling ever is too much.  You want holiness.  You want my best.  You want to train me to be like you.  But I fall.  When I fall, please pull me up.  Bring me close to you.  Help me to keep getting back up.  Help me to persevere.  I need you.  I want to get back up.  Amen.

Proverbs 23

v. 15-16 My son, if your heart is wise, then my heart will be glad indeed; my inmost being will rejoice when your lips speak what is right.

Lord God, let me be a child of yours whose heart is wise and whose lips speak what is right.  Let my own children make my heart glad with their wisdom and righteousness.  Hold my children close to you.  Give them hearts to know you and become more like you.  Amen.
